saw some lithium "AA" & "AAA" batts for sale today 4 for $9.97, I know they would increase batt shelf life but would they give me increased brightness in a fenix "AA" and a arc "AAA" and would they give me increased batt life in a eotech and aimpoint scope?? enough to justify the higher costs??

also they wouldnt damage anything, would they??

any pros/cons appreciated, i havent ever seen the lithium "AA"s before .

thanks,

They're better in every way, as far as I can tell. Lighter, higher voltage, greater capacity, and much flatter discharge curve, as they maintain their voltage under load a lot better than alkalines. Your lights might be a little brighter, but probably not enough to make a noticeable difference in actual use.
Guess whether they're worth it is up to you.
I use lithiums in my Arc AAA and CMG Ultra-G, because they have long runtimes and are seldom used. I don't think it's worth it for use in the Fenix, if you use it a lot, though. The newer Nimh rechargeables give almost as much runtime, and you can get four of them for the same price as four lithiums. I used Energizer 2500mAh AAs in my L1P, exclusively. The only time it got a lithium put in it was when I gave it to my (most recent ex-)girlfriend.
That was also the last time I ever saw it:rolleyes:
Use them in my digital camera, too.
I don't know about damage with the Aimpoint or Eotech. Doubt it, but it wouldn't hurt to ask around, or check with the manufacturer.

It's best to make sure what the device is made for ,you can't always substitute a different type battery. Lithiums have a 10 year shelf life so they are great for lights that are used rarely.Don't get cheap brands , theyve been known to start fires ! LiMH AAs started out at 900 mAh but now are as high as 2700 mAh !!

I put a 2pin 3v bulb, specifically for lithium, into my MiniMag after reaming the reflector. It is very powerful and durable.

It is not wise to use lithium in place of normal batteries on torches as the bulb life drops.

On my normal Mini Mag the titanium batteries make for a longer brighter normal bulb.

Note: I use Energiser/Duracell as the saving of cheapos is not comparable to the damage they can do.

BTW, there are TWO different AA lithium batteries !! One is 1.5v and the other [harder to find] is 3.6v .I do have a small LED flashlight that takes the 3.6v type. Again , make sure you use the battery the device is designed for !!

just make sure you dispose of all your expended batteries properly...

Lithium primary cells start off at 1.7 volts or slightly higher and can damage a flashlight not designed to accept them. Therefore, lithium batteries are not directly interchangeable with alkalines in all applications.

I use a lithium AAA cell in an Arc AAA-P flashlight because if a lithium cell leaks, it will probably not damage the flashlight. The Arc AAA-P was expensive and I don't want it ruined as alkaline leakage has ruined two of my Maglites.

Though I carry the Arc AAA-P daily as a backup, I don't actually use it often. A lithium cell has a longer shelf life than an alkaline cell.

thanks for all the info, was thinking last nite and remembered i still had the eotech and aimpoint manuals, they say lithium is "ok" for use in the scopes, sounds like its "ok" in the lights too, i will give them a try, oh they were energizer brand FWIW.
