I have the surefire e1e and it takes a lithium 123 battery. Do i have to use a surefire battery or do everyready and duacell make them also. Do places like drugstores and the like carry them? Thanks for the help.

Any make of 123 will fit. But I advise you go to Surefires site and order the box of 72 to get the best value.

What he said. The only reasonable way to buy those kind of batties is over the internet. They are very, very expensive in stores.

Yeah, if you start to paying what the box retailers want for those bad boys you'd either be extremely rich or not carrying your flashlight very much longer. .

Click here for a discussion of the different 123 batteries out there by brand. My Surefire A2 is still on it's original set of batteries, as I use the LED mode most often. Right now I've got Panasonics in my Inova X5T; they came with my Q3s and I heard some horror stories about them and the circuitry, so I tossed them in the ol' workhorse and they're fine in there. All my other lights are running Streamlight batteries.

I also saw this and though you might be interested in reading it. I've only had 2 SF cells ever and they work okay, but I'd be ticked finding a couple in a box that didn't work. That's like giving a dollar away for nothing. I can't afford to do it, and if you can, email me and I'll send you my address, 'cause I'll take all I can get. .

wow have never had probs with any 123 myself, and i use wayy too many of them lol, guess i have been lucky. i do find that the SF, energizer and duracell work the best/longest, the 'no name' or off brand ones dont seem to last as long, not much diff but enough i have noticed it..........

have been buying the SF brand for the last 2 yrs, got tired of paying about $3.00 or so each at walmart/etc.

I recommend getting the Surefire batteries. They were designed specifically for their high draw lights and will output much more current. Other than Duracell, the other brands often shutdown from heat when there is a high draw.

It also doesn't hurt that SF123As are $1.25 each -- pretty much the lowest regular price anywhere. I've used dozens of SF123As and have not experienced any failures whatsoever.

surefire dude, all the way, can't beat the prices. When I was active duty, we used to get boxes, and boxes of cr123's by kodak for some of our crypto gear, and I never had to buy a battery for my surefire. i miss those days, but thanks to surefire, I don't have to pay a lot to get a lot. I buy two boxes a year, and have leftovers.

Remember that if you use an LED light also that takes 123s to use the "depleted" batteries from the Surefire. They will have enough juice in them to run LEDs for a while. I use mine in my Inova X5T after the E2 won't light up on them anymore.
