I made my first leather strop.
Used 1 inch maple board, and veg tan leather (slick side up)
I am about to put some diamond compound on the leather(half), and I have two questions.
1). This will be one, single use strop.. which micron should I use? I have 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 5.0, 7.0, and 10 , Im leaning towards 1.0..
2). Im leaving half the leather for final strop, but which is finer? the smooth veg tan leather or 1.0 micron? If the micron, is there no sense in doing half?
Any other suggestions appreciated.
