talked the Mrs into skiing in and spending the night at the cabin, didn't take too much convincing- she was ready for a little adventure :)

on the way in she was kicking my butt pretty good- she on skinny skis and no pulk to pull had her waiting every 15 minutes or so for me to catch up- the snow was exceptionally nice for skiing

slow, but sure

started snowing pretty good shortly after making it to the cabin

I think it may have been colder in the cabin, than outside :D

wife got the chili going, the top of the wood stove was just the right temp for simmering!

supper; it's kind of nice that several of our local brewers offer their wares in aluminum cans- now worries of bottles breaking (and lighter to boot!)

we settled in for a serious Yahtzee session

(only Yahtzee of the night, yours truly :D)

ate a couple of bowls of fancied up quick oats in the morning and enjoyed several cups of java before heading out

weather was pretty nice heading out, cloud cover most of the night kept the temps reasonable (upper teens)

the new snow was really nice to ski on, heading downhill for the most part was nice too- the sun did come out and started warming things up- unfortunately we had both forgotten to put in any glide wax and suffered some major sticking in spots- it was a lot worse for my wife on the skinny skis, but it would work itself off the ski and we'd be backing to gliding again. all in all, a really nice trip for the both us

thanks for reading

Looks like a fun trip. Nice to have a place to get warm and dry once and a while. Makes a snow storm even more fun

Great temps for a winter trip and with the Missus too! No fishing it seems? I ask only because the season closes here and I must vicariously fish through others.:o
I must say I like your trip documentations and photos.

Nice trip, thanks for sharing.
We're finally hitting freezing point here, not much of a winter this year.
