Little Boker

You need to wander down to the Boker forum and look around. This little knife comes in a bewildering variety of models -- original plain edge, different colored combo edges, a wharnecliff, a rescue, and a hawksbill. The Subcom isn't just a knife, it's a phenomenon.

It's also a great little knife. :) Tiny but the grip is very secure. AUS-8 is not the best but the blade is very thin and it cuts beautifully. Strong clip on a framelock you can use as a moneyclip. What's not to like? :D One of my alltime favoirite EDCs.

I have the Boker Subclaw, nice enough knife, but the steel (AUS-8) is a little soft, and the tip was so fine and tapered that it bent and I had to change it a little so it wouldn't happen again.

Other than that, you can put a screaming sharp edge on it and it holds it alright, absolute fiend for fine slicing when using the tip, really good at cutting tape on boxes, etc.

I've considered getting the Rescom to keep in the car (if/when I had a car).

I am going back tomorrow and look a little more. The weather was bad today and not many shoppers showed up It only got up to seven degrees and we had 51 MPH winds blowing snow all over.

I've got one. I really like it. Mine is marked Magnum instead of Boker Plus. Anyone know the if there is a difference in steel?

The first Subcoms were Magnums in 420J2. Even so they were so popular that Boker upgraded the line to Boker Plus in AUS-8. I believe, just to confuse the issue, that when the first Boker Plus/AUS-8 versions came out, they were still marked Magnum, and many ealers continued to list them with the old designations long after the later upgrades were on the market.

I ordered me one last friday in black with the plain edge blade. I can't wait to get it.
