First cookout of the summer. Good friends, great food, and cold beverages enjoying beautiful Upstate NY summertime!

BK4 performed like a champ. We were using black walnut for fire wood. Very hard. The Machax had no problems. (Neither did the campanion for the really small stuff.)

Fuzz sticks done easy with the Machax

Awesome brudda. The BK4's shape does make feather sticking easy, imo.

BK4s and campfires go together, like good whiskey and good friends.

Thanks for sharing.

Who doesn't love the 4? Maybe some who haven't given it a chance....great pics, axlplayer - and excellent use of the Machax. After not owning any a few years ago - due to having picked one up and thinking "this is a lot smaller than it looks in pictures" - I finally got one (to help out WW, TBH - not 'cause I had a burning desire to own one) and started playing around with it.....you have discovered, as have I, that it is an excellent all-round "woods bumming knife" (I think trailbum coined that one) and extremely versatile. Now I have 3 of them....you know, just in case. One of my favorite blades for backpacking.....and fire making. Thanks for the pics!

When I was looking at this to buy it, I knew it was a capable tool even with people saying that it isn't as good as the nine. I thought the design was unique but I wasn't sure about it. A huge buying factor for me is the price that I bought it for was a steal. But as soon as I got it, most of my desire to get the BK9 went away. I'm sure that I'll still get a 9, along with all the other Beckers I currently don't own, but I'm super impressed with the 4 every time I use it. I love the mechanical advantage and just how natural it feels in the hand. I carry it as much as I can now.

Good stuff Axl. Nothing like relaxing by a fire. I'm loving my 4 - a good combination tool for both chopping and finer work. Thanks for sharing!

In that 4th pic, looks like the flames are afraid of that beard! Or they are just bouncing off. Cool stuff.

I do enjoy the 4, I think I need to take it next trip instead of the 9, thanks for sharing and motivating!!
