Little EDC kit with some essentials

Hi guys,

I thought it would be fun and useful to put together a little EDC survival kit and would like some input. (Yes I know there are loads of these kits out there and that you're probably sick of them and their limited use, but bear with me :) )

It is similar to the altoids smalls kits (other mint brand) and is supposed to fit in my pocket without me noticing it at all.

This is how it looks so far.

------------------------------------------
The contents are:

£20 for various urban uses

12 mm Button Compass (Cheap but works)

3 Ibuprophen

2 paracetamol/caffeine

Firestarter and striker

needle and thread

3 safety pins

bandaid

tin foil

---------------------------------------

I am planning to add a ziplock bag, anti diarrhea tablets, matches and striker surface, tinder, and water purifying tablets. My reasoning here is that this kit should be able to support me for 3 days so food is not really necessary, hence no snare wire or fishing gear. The Douk Douk does obviously not fit in the kit but is part of my daily carry anyway.

Is there anything massive I've left out?

A small lighter, a birthday candle, duct tape, trade out the thread for fish line (stronger), trade the Douk Douk for a SAK like a hiker or camper model, a ranger band, a photon 2 led light and a few small firestraws .

Nice kit! Here's mine:

4x h2o purification tabs
Straight and curved needle
Strong magnet
Safety pin
Fire steel
Fat wood
Led light w/clip
Small compass
Twine
Two arrow heads

I'm trying to come up with an EDC kit too but not all the supplies will be in one package. I found a website that sells firesteel toggles for paracord bracelets so I'm going to make a king cobra weave bracelet with jute twine incorporated into it too, and maybe a piece of hacksaw blade for a stirker so I'll have a whole firekit on my wrist. I'm thinking about a necklace with a lighter and firesteel and becker BK14 knife. Finally a small package with another lighter, tinder, bandages, compass, flashlight, maybe magnifying glass and mirror, ziplock bag for water and purification tabs, alcohol pads, and a wire saw if I can find a good one. I'll also have a multi-tool, either my wave in a pocket or something inside the kit. This would be in addition to my normal EDC of a watch with a paracord band, EDC knife, handkerchief, and a spydercard I keep in my wallet. If I can find a good compass to add to my watchband that would be good too.

These are my favorite types of threads in this section. Here is both my tins. The one on the left is a Best Glide brand outdoors PSK. Then the one on the right is my everyday carry tin for the city/school

Them opened. The one on the right isn't stuffed (held shut w/ electrical tape) like the left outdoor one.

Thanks a lot for the responses guys! I'll post more pics of my updated kit tomorrow when I get time. Still strugling to find a water container that fits in the kit. A condom fits, but is pretty useless for that purpose from what I've read and seems unpractical anyway.

Really like those arrow heads HWF!
