I picked up a little piece of 136 Layer Damascus from Mike Turner, I have enough to make two of these EDC/Neckers. This was a little different for me.

Specs:
Steel: Turner Damascus
OAL: 7.5"
Blade: 3.5"
Handle: Ironwood & G10

Colors are correct, one side is much lighter than the other. Comments encouraged!

Looks extremely comfy and usable The patterning is great. Personally on a knife of that size I would leave the bolsters off, but it's an awesome piece. Your work is always excellent Ryan.:D

Thanks Calvin! The bolsters are move of a visual thing, I wanted to break up the Ironwood and the Damascus.

Kevin, I went for a light etch on this one. And just so I answer your question. Yes

Dferg10 I will drop you a PM... Thanks for the comments

Ryan that is a beauty and I like the very subtle etch you put on this and from the looks I bet this is real comfortable in the hand.

Ryan,

Are those bolsters or is it a hidden tang with guard?

Either way, I like the blade shape a lot and the handle has a very organic and comfy look to it. Nice work!

That is clean, clean, clean.Great pics also.I like the size. One you will really use.

Makes sense Ryan. You don't want the grain of the wood to run into the pattern of the Damascus. Then both would suffer. Very smart

Mike, The damascus is beautiful. I plan on etching the next one a bit deeper but I do like the subtle look.

Paul, Sorry I shouldn't have said bolsters, more of a guard? It is a hidden tang and thought the black would look much nicer.

Thanks Don, I am not a big little knife guy. But it is surprisingly comfy.

I think so too Calvin. Trying to avoid the overly busy knife that I see on many damascus knives.

Looks great Ryan. I like the finish and the subtle etch on the blade too. The ironwood is nice and classy and the whole knife has a nice overall profile. Good work.

For not being a little knife guy you seem to do them pretty well Ryan. :)

I really like the subtle damascus look. The g10 spacer is a nice touch too. It breaks it up without stopping your eye.

John I really appreciate your comments, Also the PM and I will be making some corrections on the next one.

Damn Ryan! That is sweet! I like that quite well!
Thanks Mike!
