Admittedly, my lifestyle does not need a lot from a fixed blade, mostly folders, but lately I've been finding increasing value in small fixed blades as EDC's.

We've been working a lot around our new house and I tend to wear athletic shorts with no pockets, so neck knives have been coming in handy.

I also have made a couple of sheaths that I can clip to my pocket like a folder and carry these bad boys for work. They're small (all around 5" OAL), easily deployed and very sheeple friendly, most of the women who used to shriek now think they're "cute".

The top one is my newest from Jens Anso and should make a nice addition to my mini-knife collection, I plan on saving it for nicer situations.

I have another 4 or 5 neck knives that see a lot of use as well but these ones have the ability to do dual duty as a pocket knife :)

Top to bottom:
Jens Anso Naked Damasheep (1 7/8" blade, 4 5/8" OAL)
Allen Blade Talonite Chipmonk (1 7/8" blade, 4 5/8" OAL)
Kurt Meerdink Cahill's Gold (2" blade, 5 1/2" OAL)

Very nice..., it's fun to have a few minis. I used to have a few but traded them all. :( Your picture made me miss 'em....

Thanks for all of the replies.

Hey 92degrees, you've started me down a bad road, I ordered a Scalpel from Jens in Damasteel. Should be ready in a couple of months! Will also fall into this genre of blade at around 5" in OAL.

I've gone a little crazy this week. Since I started this thread I've added a Carson Small F4 (5.5") in S90v and a Busse Assault Shaker (5.5").

I think I have my small blade fix for the time being but I'm contiually amazed at how much I enjoy using these little pieces.

Now I just need to con Blackwood and Snody into making me something under 5.5" and I'll be good to go :D

Once I get the design refined I'll have some pictures of pocket carry sheaths to throw up here as well...

NICE knives! The Anso is beautiful. I got a mini-hunter from Kurt Meerdink a while ago. It's a lot like yours, but stabilized burl scales, 2" blade, 4 1/2" overall. My favorite necker.

I like using a tiny blade when that's all the job calls for.

Yep, Kurt does some nice stuff, I'd like to pick up another one of his pieces some time.

I really can't wait to get the Anso some pocket time, just need to find a few minutes to make it a sheath. (aside from the provided neck sheath)

In the mean time here are 2 more that I've picked up recently.

Top: Busse Assault Shaker - 5.5" OAL and 1/4" thick stock. It's a real beefy little SOB.

Bottom: Carson Small F4 in S90V - 5.5" OAL
