we were recently talking about these schrade waldens that taylor had bear cutlery and camillus make for for them so they could say usa on the stamp. I got one of the cigar box ones for a gift a while back. not one of the taylor china ones but the yellow stockman marked schrade walden usa -in a cigar box. It also came with a certificate of authenticity. My point is this I have no interest in this knife and I was recently cleaning house in the Knife department, getting ready to put some stuff on ebay. I want to sell it but I dont want to feel as guilty as smkw should. So any help on how I should list it and or describe it. My biggest fear was putting it on and someone thinking what my wife thought when she bought it for me- that she was getting a genuine schrade. The cigar box is cool but its gotta go. That is another thing that burns me THEY ARE SENDING OUT CERTIFICATES OF AUTHENTICITY!! how? anyway how do I sell this thing and still sleep at night?

You know, if Camillus made your knife it could be worth saving since they're out of business now too.

A good policy is:
1.Describe the item accurately.
2.Post good, sharp, and clear pictures of the item and especially any defects.
3.If you know something about the pedigree of the item, include that in the description.Especially if it's something that a bidder might think is important.
It isn't worth making a buyer mad,and getting a negative feedback,for a few $$.
That lets me sleep like a log.

Ron I totally agree with ya on that one. I'd rather sleep at night than be awake over a couple of bucks. I've got perfect feedback on e-bay and I'll usually do whatever it takes to keep it that way. "do unto others as you would have done unto you".-joel

Let me add another item and I apologize if it takes over the thread: if you are a seller, always pay for a tracking number. As a way to supplement my Schrade addiction, I sold some baseball cards as I've gotten away from that interest. All of them went through with no problems except for 1. I have proof that I sent the item first class to the buyers zip code, but papypal will not back me up because I do not have a tracking number. The buyer didn't pay for insurance, so I didn't pay for it when I sent it to him. Now, he says he never received the item and I've got to send him back the $50 and I'm out a baseball card. My reputation is worth more than $50, so it's no sweat off of my back, but always protect yourself. He could very well have received the card and said that he didn't. I have no way of proving he did or didn't. I guess I just rely on the goodness of people too much. But, learn a lesson from me...........in the end, it's my fault but I'd hate to have it happen to anyone on here.

d&b good advice I will be taking your advice this week. I also have that problem I over trust people that i dont know. Its too bad it has to be that way.

sorry To bring up an older topic, but I just was looking at one of my cigar box classics that was for sale by smkw and was determined that was made by camillus for schrade so it could be made in the usa and I was looking at the box and printed inside it says inperial schrade corp 2003? was this a ploy to make it look like it was made before schrade went down or what?

They could be surplus boxes. SMKW has also recently been packaging chinese knives in original 2004 anniversary tins, and even attaching anniversary shields.

SMKW provided a lot of their own packaging for their Schrade SFOs (Remember the trucks?), so it makes sense that they have either leftovers, or are sourcing new ones through their original vendors. Much of the stuff Schrade sent them over the years was ordered and shipped "bulk packed".
