havent been able to handle either but want one... Prefer the Mountaineer II but have a nice lead on a Mark VI.

How are they different, preferred. Gonna be a camp knife.

TIA gents,

Of course, the only different is single vs. double cross guard. Of the two, I personally prefer the thumb-ramp / single cross guard of the Mountaineer II. Same reason I like the Sable line.

I recently bought the Mountaineer II to use outdoors while hikiing, camping, fishing, & hunting - - and as a genl camp knife. - - IMO the single cross guard is the most versatile in this application, give better control for finer tasks. But the guard on the CRK fixed knives isn't real large and its seems that it could be worked around. (One of the first things I did when I got my Mountaineer II was to see how comfortable it was to rest my finger on the guard.) - - - I also like the Shadow III, especially its pancake sheath. Its also a double guard knife - - and now I would have no hesitation in ordering one some time. - - - P.S. - - the only small complaint I have about the Mountaineer II regards the thumb rest grooves on the top of the blade spine. I think they could have been cut wider and deeper to give better traction - also there are two sets of thumb grooves separated by a small smooth space between them that my thumb wants to rest on. I wished they had made it continuous. (Of course, 'feel' is a personal thing, & others may like it as it is.) - -

got it from New Graham Knives newgraham.com
Lots of good dealers out there - I just got my new large Sebenza micarta folder from True North Knives - - Everyone's prices are pretty much the same - just depends what they have in stock. - - -
