Little help with a couple Bucks?

I'm in the process of moving and we've been packing up what we're saving and selling off what we can move on without. Over the past two weeks I've sold off a lot of audio gear that has just been sitting on the shelves in my office. I've sold a tube headphone amp, two pair of headphones, a DAC and a preamp.

Now I've been looking over some of the knives that I've had just sitting around my office over the years. I must admit that I do not have a lot of knowledge regarding Bucks models...at the time I just bought what appealed to me and I have no idea at all if ANYONE would be interested if I were to put them up for sale.

I have a folding Alpha Hunter from 06 (the box says 05/01/06) with a 154CM blade...I know that they now make some of these with S30V so I don't know if there is a market for the 154CM version in perfect/new condition or not? Not worth selling? better to just keep it?

I also have a Buck Big Sky #403 fixed blade with its leather sheath but no box...its in very nice shape (not perfect like the #277 w/154CM) but did spend a long time in the back of a desk drawer and has a few minor marks on the wood scales. Worth selling or not so much?

If anyone cares to give me some info on either or both of these knives it would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to take pic and post them if I'm wasting my time...cost me nothing to keep them. <grin>

Thanks so much!

Best bet would be to search eBay completed listings to see what they are actually selling for then decide if it's worth the trouble. Neither knife is scarce. The one thing you've got going for you is that as a Gold member you can post on the Buck Knives for sale forum here for free and avoid eBay fees. Downside is that this audience is smaller than eBay and tighter with it's money.... :D HTH

A buck alpha s30v can be bought for $73 shipped. A few months ago I believe there was a used mint condition 154cm alpha hunter sell on Ebay for around $55 plus $6 shipping. It's a great knife and I would keep it.

That's probably what I'll do with the folder, I like that Buck now makes the #277 with S30V, not sure how long ago they made that move but seems like a good one. Actually I've never had any issues with 154CM or any other non-super steel as far as that goes.

Thank you for the info, most of the knives I'm considering selling I actually know something about but with these two, especially the Big Sky...not so much.

P.S
Just ordered a Buck Spitfire (Gray) this morning...things are suppose to be moving out not in but I'm sure some of you can understand. <grin>
