Clydetz sent the attached photo and asked me to post it for all to enjoy.

His new pride and joy is a Ron Leuschen (Little Hen Knives) creation. Ron calls this his "Recurve Hunter". The blade is forged by Ron out of 01 with a very well defined hamon or temper line.

RifRaf,
Thanks a million for posting my pix of Ron's craftsmanship. I just purchased a digital camera & spent Sunday afternoon trying to take some decent pictures. I've got a ways to go to understand lighting & keeping the dust away!
In a thread I started a couple of weeks ago, I gave the specs of the knife but could not get a pix posted (no scanner or camera) so here are the specs for the knife pictured:
OAL: 7.5" Forged O-1 Blade Length: 3.2"
Guard: Copper Butt Cap: Copper
Handle: Stabilized Birch Burl with 2 golden Ram's Horn inserts, black & white spacers & 2 homemade mosaic pins of Ron Leuschen's creation.
I only hope my picture does justice to Ron's handiwork!

Ron does beautiful work. I love my knife that he made for me. I think his knives are as distinctive as any. I can recognize one from a long way off.

Keith -
Do you consider your LH knife a user or collector blade? Right now mine is sitting on my computer desk for me to 'gawk' at and admire!
I've got a few more custom projects out there (no doubt another for Ron) - should be an interesting Christmas.

Hi guys ,

I have been out of town and had a massive lightning strike at the house ( fried many electronics even with surge protection ) . The knife looks great . I have my second one from Ron as you all saw it . The basket weave hunter , you have to see that thing in person . Well enjoy the knife and put her to work .

Jerry
