In our quest to get a refinance, we've been going down our list of touch ups to the house in order to maximize our apraisal and equity. Headches, eye rolls, and sharp replies have been the order of the week so I had to get out by myself this morning.

This is about mental and spiritual survival.

Eight minutes from home, my most frequent haunt here in CT is Collis P. Huntington State Park. Spreading across 883 acres, is a range of varied ecosystems and habitats including fields lakes, rocky ridges, swamps, streams, and dense woodlands. I'm here at least three days a week so I try to mix it up a bit. Whether I'm alone, with one or more of my kids and wife, or with Tony (don't ask, mandated comunity service), my constant companion is Sadie. Look away Joezilla (Joe hates puppies) ;)

I'm famous for not taking pictures on hikes, trips, get togethers and whatnot so I decided to bring along some new knives from some great makers

Group shot. In there is also an F1 (Sweden but also Japan) with a mortised or rabbet tang (whatever you like) done up by the gang in Escanaba (Michigan)

Anywhoo, here ya go, some pics for you and some sanity for me. :)

Very nice pics, your dog is goreous, how old is she?

That collection is awesome too, mucho jealous:thumbup:

Dang Marcelo, looks like a nice day and a pack full of nice blades! Those are all great, but that BH Scaatycrafter is sweeeet:thumbup:

Sadie will be two next month.

Hey Walt! How's your leg healing? Yeah, That BH is nice, Bigger than I normally use but but it does have good ergos. I would have brought along your chopper but as you can see, one can only carry so much steel.

What a cute pooch! Thanks for sharing.

Love that BH Scattycrafter, that was the blade that originally attracted me to their bushy. Didn't know the Scattycrafter was a blade that could be ordered!

But you've got a great overall selection of bush knives there, all winners.

Will, Dan & LT are so cool to work with, they'll hook you up. I asked them for one after I got to handle Scaaty's but his had a bigger ricasso, They were like "no problem"

One thing I forgot to talk about here are the sheaths. Koyote Girl is a sheath prodigy. JRE's sheath as many know are like the Chevy Nova of sheaths, tough, pretty, and versatile, but bar none my favorite sheaths are from DJJ. Thay have soul!

Got 8 screws and a plate in it on Tuesday, but it was in decent shape so I can start putting weight on it in about a month:thumbup: I don't blame you for not packing the HB, you could just lash three or four of those together if you need a chopper:p

Sounds like I may need to get my mitts on one of those BH-it looks like it would be a little more handy than their normal bushcrafter:thumbup:

Great shots. Packing all that steel would put any of us to shame !

Great pics buddy, awesome set of steel ya have there !

Sadie looks like a great companion, probably a lot better behaved than my Russell the Tiny Terror !!!!!

Some fine looking steel there, Marcelo. Understandable why you have to refinance the house. :D

I guess hiking with Tony would have to amount to some kind of community service. I'd hate to ask of the severity of your transgressions to deserve that. :(

Nice looking dog, too.

I dunno bout that, she's keeps a wide perimeter and when wierd vibed people approach, her hackles pop up and a deep throated bark fest ensues. She's harmless but gives some people quite a scare. We're working on it and she's getting better.

There is something about watching a dog's sheer enjoyment of nature that is refreshing in itself.

I can see how that, coupled with those quality tools, could provide a sense of revival :)
