Chula Vista just beat Chinese Taipei to become the 2009 Little League World Series champs. I'm not normally interested in Little League, but a local team lost to Chula Vista in the West Regionals. Not as much sting in that loss now, I'd think.

Congrats to the players and parents from Chula Vista Park View Little League.
 
Congrats to both teams! Watched part of the game with my son (8yo) who's a ball player. We couldn't believe the speed of this ball coming in...for 12 year olds :eek:

Pretty amazing skills for those 12 and 13 year olds. Looks like the whole event is a class act.
 
That avatar -isn't he involved with the Dutchess County NY team ,Renegades [?] .This was one of the small teams formed in response to the baseball strike .
Anyway the Little League World Series - real baseball !! They all deserve our applause !

Now that you mention it, I remembered that fact. He is a part owner of several minor league teams according to Wikipedia. Supposed to be a good guy, very un-Hollywood.
