Just wondering, does anyone here have any experience with this machine or any similar machine from LMS? I just purchased the 3990 over the Grizzly G0758 after weeks of trying to decide. Major factor, LMS is literally three minutes from my house, they stock all parts always and warranty work can be done right there if needed. Any user info would be appreciated.

I have one. I don't have a DRO so I just eyeball stuff when I'm using it. I use it to mill slots for guards and square up wood blocks and drill holes for pins. Honestly I know I'm using only 1/10 of it's potential but it gets the job done for what I need it for.
Wish I could offer more but that's all I've got

Owned a 3990 for about two years. It has adequate power and stability for most knife making needs.
I use it as a more stable drill/reamer, to mill guard slots, and for shaping some wood. It struggles a bit on milling steel accurately. The lack of mass factors in there.
The height is okay, but if you may not be able to drill into the end of a full length handle (4 inches or so). This assumes you are holding it in a vise and have a reasonable length bit. Backlash on the feeds is tolerable, but not great.
Depending on how you place things, you can inadvertently block the table lock with your vise, which can be annoying but not a show stopper.
I have had no maintenance issues.
