I was out throwing my new hawk this evening with my two sons who both showed an interest in this sport. The oldest Eric who is going to be 14 in October had no problem with handling the hawk. The youngest Andrew who's going to be 5 on the 27th of this month well it was too much hawk for him. I was wondering if someone sold or made a little man's hawk? I'm going to see if Steve will make one for my oldest and one for my youngest for Christmas gifts, but I thought maybe I could pick something store bought on the net for Andrew's birthday.

Hi Dave
You should check out The online auction under buy it now, lots of cheap small hawks there.
But DO get Steve to make him a little guys hawk and a bigger guys hawk too.

Here is a PeeWee that Steve made for my boy. He was late threeish then. Now mid four and can throw it at about nine feet. I cut and shaped the handle down to fit his hand, kind of profiled it like a hatchet, so that he could hoist it. Not too many sticks when he throws it, but his first was quite a commotion. He wears it on his belt while we explore our place. Don't opt for a cheap POS. Get an heirloom your kid will treasure and pass to his kid. My Son is learning to understand many things with this tool. It hangs on the wall in his room and is one of his most prized possessions. Eventually he will get my two as well.

Thanks for the pics, Darksky. I'm going to get one from Steve as soon as I get back to work.
