Hiked this scenic park this weekend with the kids. Great place if you don't have much time but need to get out a bit.

Thanks! The knife is one of the first ones I made. I've made many since then but the darn thing is comfortable and holds a mean edge so it continues to ride the belt.

Sorry, left out the knife details. It is a 3 inch 1095 steel blade with red oak scales and brass pins. I did a differential heat treat on it leaving the spine soft for hard work in the woods. Here is a picture of it with the sheath. No patina on it at that point.

Edit: Forgot to note that there is black linen micarta at the leading edge of the scales to protect them from abuse.
