How do you guys get enough knives made up for the show? Do you just set aside so many? Also, how many do you prefer to take with you? Thanks and take care! Michael

L6STEEL, What I do is take what I have. It is good to have all you can, but a lot of the time, I do a show for the PR and socializing aspect of it. I already have a small customer base that keeps me fairly busy. I teach school (welding at Vo-Tech) and am a part time knife maker and a knife show allows me to compare and visit. I usually have at least 10 knives and have had as few as 5. You do need to have enough to make expenses unless you are just starting and then you need the exposure.

Raker, where is the show being held and what are the dates? Which hotels are close by? I have seen times when the weather was not too good in AR in Feb, but El Nino may have changed that. Let's hope for good weather.

The Arkansas Knifemakers Association is haveing their Custom Knife Show at the Hilton Inn in Little Rock, Ark. The hotel is located at I-630 and University Avenue. They have a special rate that is available till Jan. 21st. $68.00 for a single/double, $78.00 for a triple and $88.00 for a quad. The number to call is 1-800-445-8667 or 1-501-664-5020. It will be held the 12th and 13th of February and this is the 5th annual show. This will be my third and I always have a good time there. I am looking forward to meeting the other members of BF.

Raker, thanx for the info. I may drive up for that show. I've stayed at that Hilton before, but it's been a long time ago. Probably still pretty nice. That area is definitely better than the downtown area. To the guys going, you have to eat one time at the Sirloins Inn (steakhouse) in North Little Rock. Take my word on this one.

It will be good to see you again Larry. I didn't get to talk to you much at the AKA shop tour in October. I guess the cutting test was on my mind too much for about anything else. I will be looking for you. I think I may copy this thread so that I don't forget anyone. My memory lasts about as long as a politicians promise.
