Charlie and I really enjoyed our selves at the Little Rock Knife Show. It was our first time showing at the Little Rock Show, and we have already signed up for next year. We wanted to thank the Arkansas Knifemakers Association for doing such a good job and making a couple of Georgia knife makers feel so welcome.

The show was busy from start to finish and the time went by very fast. We met many of the members and they are a great bunch of makers. The room was filled not only with real talented makers, but some serious collectors too, that proved very willing to challenge a maker. We really enjoyed talking with all the people that attended, but I have to admit selling knives and taking all those orders was even more fun.

Thanks again to the Arkansas Knifemakers Association for putting on a great show.

Congratulations!

It is ALWAYS fun to participate in a show that is well attended with collectors that are interested in actually PURCHASING knives instead of just looking.

Those that emphasize the knife SHOW aspect of the business are missing out on the point...if you cannot directly recoup expenses there is virtually no point in attending as a seller....if you are a collector who travels significant distance to attend the show, there is not much point in going if there is not quality product to BUY.

If you are a newbie in either case, disregard the above, it is called "paying your dues.":D

Glad to hear them Arkansaw fellas are doing such a good job. This year for me, will be the Santa Barbara Show, Josh Smith's show and the AKI....all super quality venues!

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Harry,
It was good to have you guys there. You're both welcome additions to the Arkansas show. Thanks, Lin

Hey Guys,

Came by your table and caught a look at your knives a couple of times, but you were always deeply into a discussion with an interested customer, and I 'm not about to interrupt that.

It was a great show, and seems like most of the makers had a good one.

John

I look forward to seeing quite a few of you at the A.G. Russell show this coming summer. I learned a lesson this year...always attend the first day and early too. I have to admit that Mr. Alsdorf was probably the nicest maker I met all day. He spent the time discussing how he makes his folders and all the different options. He didn't have what I wanted available that day, but he made a sale.

Was posting some photos on the CKCA Arkansas Show Review forum so thought I would post them over here as well.

Kevin, all are beautiful, but I really appreciated the first two. I, too, would someday love to make the LR show, but at 1000 miles plus, its a mite too far to drive. I'm in N. VA, just outside Washington. We neighbors?

In deed we are neighbors as I live north of Richmond.

Maybe we can hook up next year and split the drive. BTW, are you a member of the Richmond knife club? I'm prez of the Northern VA Knife Collectors and we meet in Vienna.

Paul

Yep Joe, they are some nice ones.

I'm not yet Paul, but I have been trying to make it to their last several meetings without luck as something seems to keep coming up at the last minute. One of our CKCA members is also a member of the Richmond club.

Those are some super looking knives. I need to go to that show next year.

It was a great time! I learned alot. Sold all I had and took a few orders. But the best part was being around all the great makers. Was kind of intimidated by them at first.
