Knowing full-well that these beauties are out of production, I recently got one. At the risk of being taboo in lieu of the "age of the Battle Rat," I would just like to say that I have oogled over these since they came out several years back. Having been a CS Trailmaster fan since getting mine back in '87 or so, the ability to choke your thumb up on the back of the blade, the better ergo's of the handle, the lack of a guard that develops rattle over the years, and the slightly thinner blade are much-welcomed differences in a big-ass camp knife.

I think it might work well in a concealex "stealth forehead sheath." Just some straps that wrap around the head, with the sheath/knife protruding straight out from the hairline. Throw on a baseball cap with a 20" bill, and you're good to go.

Can't wait to beat the brush with this elegant bruiser. Thank you Busse, for while it might have taken me a few years to get on the boat, now that I'm on, I will be sure to throw some life preservers to others, as well as make the occasional drinks, sort of like Isaac on the Love Boat, but I think my Blue Toenail-TM (3/4 vodka, 1/4 Yoohoo) would blow anything he could whip-up out of the water. No pun intended; you see, since boats are on water, that might be considered a pun of sorts. Yeah.

Professor.

You are preaching to the choir with me, shipmate. I am a die-hard Basics fan. My beloved Basic #7 will probably be one of the last knives to leave me should I ever have to start parting company with sharp steel.

Professor,
Welcome aboard ;):D:D

I loved my Basic 9 and have often regretted getting rid of her.

So the obvious question is now....what's next? ;):D:D
