December 2012, finally a little down time..
ever since i saw some axes a friend made...

i wanna have one....bad

so steel ordered, a fresh pack off grinding disks... making steel dust

O1 3/8" thick, made the outline, and started making the handle lighter
still needs to be more lighter to get some better balance

spend some time grinding.. make the handle narrower for weight and feel good
and now first harden / temper
than finish grinding, i think stone wash finish acid etch , ore gun coat
handle i'm thinking or to paracord wrap and fixate this with epoxy
or plasti dip it.. or a combination
i'm trying out some stuff.. industrial look and grippy

life got a little in the way, moving house ... working my ass off...

found my little axe again... shipped it out for Heat.
grinded sharp, painted the grip ( being O1 ) and applied grip tape so the paracord would not slip to much
spend a whole day wrapping the grip before i liked it , finaly went for a old style, and turks head finish top and bottom

decent chopper, but will try some more flat grind

prikker.jpg

pick works...

If I could find steel in Canada wider than 2 inches I would be trying something similar, nice work!
