So I had a Paul Chen/Hanwei longsword blade left over from a few years back (spent some time doing custom mounted hand & 1/2 swords with these, since they're replaceable, well executed and inexpensive)
I'd been thinking of cutting it down and doing a munition grade wu jian out of it, so here she is (along with a yanmao dao I did for myself out of 5160-first sword I'd made in fifteen years).

The jian mountings are just roughed out-will do the finish work when the hilt wrap dries.

thx for sharing your remake . are you gonna do a serious test cutting video for us to see. yes, i am on the hunt for a jian made just for me. process is a slow one , so i'm glad i love tai chi because i am used to going slow.

I will do some cutting once everything isn't frozen- I reground the Hanwei edge to a high convex, so it should cut nicely.

nice to see someone working on Chinese style swords. I love them. I try to make them when I can, but there isn't a market for handmade customs here in the US. Great blades. keep at it.

Thanks Kevin-it's true. I've had some inquiries about doing another dao or two-and I just did a custom ginunting espada y daga set (and if that's not a specialty sword...) it would be fun to do some more.
This Jian has some potential, being a reground Paul Chen. ( the dao is one i forged, ground and heat treated and it'd have to be 4x the $$ of the jian...)
