That one guy is right... all you knife makers are making this knife stuff way too difficult and top secret. I was futzing around in the shop and discovered this little trick.... so easy!!!

Here's the starting materials--- some 1084, 15N20, G10, copper, 416 ss, and a nice stag carver.

Then just sprinkle some of this on it-

And voilà!!! ;) :) I wish I had found this trick a long time ago!!!

Nick, I have tried this in the past but I now see my problem: The package says dip, so I dipped the parts in the dust. ;):D

Very nice knife.

Nick I would like to purchase some of that stuff. Actually about a ton. And would you be so kind as to give me the material/dip ratio you use to achieve these kind of results. Thanks.

They only have Strawberry flavor at my local store. Would that work or should I just give up? :(

BEST WIP THREAD EVER!

I was struggling with getting my bevels flat, SHEW! Now I know the answer. Knifemaking is SIMPLE. ;)

I don't know, still seems kind of arcane to me... that powder also seems to have made your WIP a little less exhaustive. Wondrous.

Really though, beaut of a little knife.

I mixed that stuff into the satanite when I relined my forge last month.... blades forge themselves leaving me more time to joust with windmills on BF.

actualy, if you snort the stuff, all you have to do is lightly breath on a peice of steel and it will magicly turn into investor grade cutlery!

In retrospect, I wonder- did you go out and buy that "Yumptious Dip" just for the photo, or do you generally have that stuff lying around your shop? Wait, is that in actuality some kind of hamon-polishing abrasive?

How exactly did you apply the Yumptious Dip? and do you have to have it pre-heated to 120F? If I put it on the spine will it create a Hamon? Am I making this too difficult?

Nice Thread Nick! Thanks for the laugh:D

If you do the same but with pop-rocks it will come out tactical!

That's how I do mine!

Nick that is outstanding! You make me want to make knives like yours. I really like it.

Oh man..... and here, I've been using Shake'n Bake the whole time...... damn.

Beautiful blade, Nick
