Little steps of learning as you go make this all worth while

I did my first solderless guard fit today and guess what IT WORKED.
Yeah (Crowd cheering in the background, of my head)
Using my calipers, files and drill press the Damn thing fit. Not half bad either.
For all of you who this is old hat too, I apololgize. To the new guys don't hesitate to try something new.
When what your trying actually works, you gain that little extra bit of confidence that leads to another step.

THANKS to all of you for your help and support

Keep on moving ahead.

Outstanding Bob!!! I'm about to do my first press fit solderless guard. It must be so satisfying to make the parts fit together so perfect that they need nothing else.

I do the solderless gaurd all the time. I make it with a wide gap and then use the hydraulic press to smash the gap closed. It warps the faces but they are easily flattened out on the belt.
