In light of the recent Brouhaha over dimples, squiggles, tool marks and the infamous "Brad Pits", I thought I'd take a different approach.......a partial strip.
I have seen partially coated blades come out of Busse in the past.........and after doing this partial strip, I'm convinced they did their partial coat on finished satin blades.
I started with this:
I taped off the parts that would not be stripped:
A little Citrus Strip and left it about an hour while went out for lunch
after scraping off the coating, I used a dremmel to clean it up a bit and then did a little hand sanding.
Actual time on this.....about an hour (not counting the time off for lunch)
It is very hard to get a clean edge. The citrus strip bleeds under the tape a little and softens the edge a bit. Looks great from a distance.
I'll try it this way for a while and see how it holds up. Anyway........thought i'd give it a try and keep those pesky dimples, squiggles and Brad Pits under wraps.
