Thought I'd post this here. Some time back I bought a bunch of little tiny Tabasco bottles-maybe Military overrun/surplus? Great for traveling.
In any event I can't recall where I got them .Any of you guys have a source for these?

Nope, but would be interested in hearing if you find out. I carry some of the tobasco red pepper packets in my kit and a large bottle in our home supplies. Love that stuff.:p

To purchase them 'factory direct' contact McIlhenny Co...

Also, while you're at it...you can thank our own Bruce Woodbury for the MRE addition, as it was his brainstorm while working for 'Sam', and while wearing the USA green...

(Thanks again Bruce, for making the inedible, more edible!)

McIlhenny's website:

http://countrystore.tabasco.com/

They sell the mini bottles of Tabasco by the 6 pack, the gross (144), or by the case of 500. They also have Tabasco by the gallon jug (now that's kinda scary).

I once bought some of the mini bottles at a grocery store. I've also seen them on ebay.

Good luck!

Man, that would be a great giveaway item for orders. Too bad I'd be sued into the ground when someone used it as an eye drop or something.

My local Wal-mart carries them. Try looking in the ketchup mustard and other condiments isle....they're in little six packs....

Some one informed me that Sam's Club sometimes sells them by the case too.

If you want instant gratification, Cost Plus usually carries the little tabasco bottles in six-packs.

I'm watching mail call and just as I was checking out this post, someone was talking about how some sentries will do just that to keep awake.

Ouch!!

Thanks Mel, I'd like to take all the credit but it was the request of a bunch of soldiers (25th Infantry Division, Division Artillery) who were helping us with a feeding test that requested they get the Tobasco in their MRE's instead of them having to carry a personal bottle around with them. I facilitated making it happen with Natick Laboratories (Military Food R&D).

...but it was the military requirement that resulted in the little 1/8th ounce bottles. Ain't they cute! Looking at one on my desk this very minute.

I'm fondling one of them little 3.7mL bottles as we speak (that's why I'm typing so slow...lol)

Cute as a bug, but full of kick!

If you carry a good ol' Zippo lighter in your kit for emergencies, but worry about it being dry when you need it, just clean out a couple of the tiny Tobasco bottles after you use the sauce, and then, when dry, fill a couple with lighter fluid and keep them in you kit. If your Zippo is dry... or runs dry, there's enough lighter fluid in one bottle to get the ol' Zippo back into prime shape.

FWIW. L.W.

So, Spark, do you warn those who buy knives that they are (GASP!) sharp?

Whenever I run into Popeyes, or Taco bell, I grab a handload of hot sauce packets... they don't have to last to long, just long enough for your nexy hiking trip...

the best part... it's all free!
