I bought this Spyderco yesterday. It was carried for a few days, and the seller didn't like the weight of it. I came home happy, but after I saw the fake Spyderco thread, I became a little paranoid. Please tell me this is real....I'll tell you it carved very well. I couldn't see a Chinese folder do that.

Back of the blade it says Golden. Colorado U.S.A, Earth. And then this symbol by the jimping.

It looks legit. Why do you feel it's a fake? Did you pay an extremely low price for it, like under $30 NIB would I suspect.

I don't fell it is fake, I just get really paranoid sometimes. I believe I payed $120.00, versus his $140.00.

No need to worry. You can always check Spyderco.com for things in the catalog if you are ever in doubt. A little research on the Internet can go a long way. the knife in your picture is not in the fakes thread is it? The knife you have is very real and has been advertised for months now. Here is mine.

No one has faked the Caged Ball Bearing lock yet, at least that I have seen. Yours looks to be totally legit. That little symbol you mentioned is Eric Glesser's mark, he is the designer of the Manix series. I've not seen that faked yet, either.

You BELIEVE you payed 120? You bought it yesterday, how forgetful are you? ;) If you checked the online dealers first it would have saved you some money (it's around 100 shipped)

On the box is a little sticker which tells you the exact model number btw.

I bought a lot of other stuff.....when I am in the "zone", I can be forgetfull. :D I saw on Spyderco's website it was more than $100.

Spyderco's website is the list price. Most online dealers sell for between 30 to 46 percent below list price depending on the dealer. I think I saw the knife you bought going for about $102 including shipping at some dealers.
