We've been holding back on this one trying to get the bugs worked out of it, but it appears that it's finally working...

So during the open hours of the Spirit of Steel Knife Show in Mesquite, September 28, 29, 30, we will be attempting what I hope is a first for knife shows, that is a live webcam. The link will be on my website at http://www.jbrucevoyles.com
I'm still trying to figure out how to get it showing on my website directly, but for sure there will be a link to which you can go to to see what's going on in the show.
If possible we may even have close ups from time to time of the more interesting knives (we'll have to handwrite their names so you'll know who the knives are)...
Anyway this is all new, probably crude, but we're going to try it anyway. Wish us luck and check it out if you can't be there.

Also www.leftbid.com is taking bids as we speak for the 600 lot custom auction. Their online catalog is quicker with larger photos than the one on my website.

Great idea, Bruce. I've always appreciated the folks who take the time to share with those of us who can't be there. This should be cool.

Cool, now if the Blade Show would take note.

Maybe a list of the makers at the show and a time next to it when close ups would be done. That way you know who the maker is and could schedule which makers you wanted to see.

This would also let the makers get coverage and they could arrange to have the maximum number of thier knives on the table for the "viewing".

You have a Hell of an idea there.

Well actually we are moving in that direction. If you'll note on the website we do have photos of the knives many of the makers who will be there.
Also I was talking to Curtis Wilson today who is debuting a trio of what sound like breathtaking knives. Plan is to try to show some maker's knives on the hour, beginning around 1 or so central time Friday. A handscrawled note will name the maker, how much he wants for it, and his cell phone number. You want it, just call! Curtis is first in line.
Bear in mind this is all based on everything working. Not sure how well my intel webcam will show, but it is a start.
So start checking on Friday and we'll see how it works. Thanks for the interest.

The camera will be too cool.

Congratulations on the sell-out Bruce.

The knives in the auction are fantastic, looks as if you have done a great job and that it will be a memorable show.

I hope you wait until after morning coffee before turning that camera on. Can you imagine what everyone will look like on Friday morning after driving across the country to get there for the Thursday start. Of course you will have make-up artist on standby. Maybe you better just focus on the knives!

But it does sound like fun. This time next week I should be crossing into Georgia.

Secret web cam? Don't put it in the bathroom. Sounds like fun. Smart. I am really looking forward to the show. Do we get to vote somebody out of the show?
