I'm going to buy one as soon as Newt replies. I want to know your experiences with a non-metallic knife of this sort. Strength, edge holding ability, etc. This will be primarily a tactical/SD. Any information is appreciated.

Spydies... Bet you can't buy just one.

I have two. I'm not sure about strength, but willl soon be testing one to fracture, and will get back to you on that. Doesn't take or hold an edge anything like a steel knife, but it's capable of giving some shallow slices to flesh with enough force behind it. It's primarily designed as a thruster anyway, and does a pretty good job at that. Decent carry system, very versatile. Not inexpensive, and good for what it's designed for: covert, non-metallic weapon that can be used and then ditched. Better than most in my experience anyway, though the CS Delta Dart, and the Blackie Collins revamped version of the CIA letter opener also deserve a look.

The blade is meant to break if given lateral pressure following insertion. I don't know what Newt's rationale was for this design other than the movie "An Innocent Man," though.

I just got one last week. As Joe stated it is primarily a thruster. I've only handled a few non-metallic knives but this one seems to be a good as you'll find for the money. I thought the sheath was a bit bulky so I got out the Dremel tool.

Clyde
