Hi fellow knife nuts, I need your opinion on theses Browing knives. I know that four of the 6 were made by Arkansas Master Smith's. I have a chance to purchase on of the prototype's, on the left side of the blade is the makers stamp and the right side is stamped PT-1. I have also ordered the matching proudction knife to go with it. This is the first production knife I have ever purchased. I would like your opinion if you thank this type of combation will increase in value over a few years?

I think the prototype may well increase in value, especially if it is the one done by Jerry Fisk. I do not have as much confidence in the production model. These knives are very high priced, considering they are made from 420 steel. Maybe the combination will appeal to the right collector, but I personally would only have an interest in the prototype.

Cougar, Thanks for that info. link. It's not looking very good for my decision on this one, maybe the prototype will increase in value. Is Mr Levine ever wrong?

He thought he made a mistake once, but he was wrong. ;)

What Bernard stated in his post was that Browning could all of a sudden become a collectable brand. He is not saying that it is a dead on certainty that Browning knives will never be collectable, but that it is unlikely.
