he is still doing some knifemaking over the past few years one of which is this one -- a very nice Bowie

try doing an internet search to learn more and find some of the very early (1970's) books related to knives to learn more about this fine knifemaker.

According to one source Mr Hale was born in Stillwater, OK in 1937 and became a full time knife maker in 1969 in Poway, CA. He moved to Springdale, AR in 1973. In 1980 he moved to Louisville, KY and spent the next 23 years making knives for one man who wanted an exclusive collection. The collection can be seen in the Owsley Brown Frazier Antique Arms Museum in Louisville. I too have always been fond of his work as he made fighters and bowies at a time when skinners were the in thing. The picture below shows one of his push daggers with a fossilized walrus handle.
