I think this tool has the potential to be the best out there, IMHO. The Supertool rocked anyway and now with:

1) better unlocking mech
2) sheepsfoot serrated blade (not a biggie, but nice anyways)
3) rounded handles

it will be a true force to contend with. Admittedly, it is big for daily carry and it doesn't have scissors (and if they were going to put the same dinky scissors that are on the Pulse, I am glad they left them off!), but it has an awl and nice llllooonnngggg screwdrivers.

Anyone else excited about this one? Does it lack anything you consider a must-have? Does it have too much?

Oh Crap! You mean I have to buy another one? Seriously, I've been so happy with my Pulse, I haven't really thought about something new. First I've heard about this baby. Where can I see it?

BTW, I disagree about the scissors. I'd rather have the scissors than a serrated sheepsfoot. Where you expecting to shear a sheep with those pulse scissors or what?

I have a regular old SuperTool in my pocket now. Doubt the new one will be too big, the old one certainly isn't. If it were an inch longer, I would have to carry it in a sheath though as it would start to bite me when I sit down

I carry my ST in my jacket pocket daily. I would like scissors too, the only thing it's lacking. And I'd prefer the serrated blade pointy, I have never had a need for a knife without a point. I'm sure I'll get one of the new ones, they're due out in Aug. right?

Hoodoo -- You can see it at Leatherman's site or at www.equipped.com under the SHOT show section. Ok, you're right, perhaps I am too hard on the scissors. I just wish they were bigger.

Sid -- It is big for daily carry, but not too big. Will wait until I have one to decide...

Jason -- I think so (re: August).

Like Hoodoo I have become quite enamoured with my Pulse. For me ... a lot easier on the belt than my super was. However I still like the super for hiking and camping. The lock release in my opinion is not nearly as easy to use as the swisstool or Gerber so having owned the Pulse and used the leatherman lock release I wouldnt buy the new super for it buuutttt The rounded handles are a blessing. I never thought about how much until I started using the pulse. Man it changes everything. I also always wanted my serated blade to be Sheepsfoot. I dont feel I need two pointy knives in one tool. SO for these reasons ... and the fact I just gave my super away to one of my employees I WILL definatly be picking up a Super 200 for my bag.

Just checked out the link and I'm not sure the new Super Tool is for me but I think the Juice xe6 has my name written all over it.

I, too, am looking forward to the arrival of the LM Super Tool 200. I like the Pulse, but I miss the saw and the awl, either of which I would rather have than scissors. There aren't many things I can cut with scissors that I can't also cut with a knife in a pinch. When you need a saw, though, it takes a lot of effort to get by with something else.

In a game of scissors-paper-rock, a saw beats a pair of scissors every time.

I am beginning to agree with David, re scissors. Plus, it it easier to open a micra (if you have one) than a full tool anyway (usually)

I am waiting for a multitool to have a decnt (i.e., cutting edge more than 1") pair if scissors in them. Until then, I will be content with my Pulse and Supertool 200 (when I get it).

Re: LM Scissors (from equipped.com re: the Juice)

The scissors, on the S2, CS4 and XE6 models, are the largest yet from Leatherman with one-inch long scissor blades. A new style lever spring seems robust enough to take plenty of abuse. A ramped surface upon which the spring lever rides is designed to ensure that the edges are held tight when cutting for better performance. I was also told that the scissor blades themselves are machined to shape, not bent, for added strength and cutting performance.

Pretty sweet. Despite size and colour, the Juice looks to be a full function tool.

Call me dumb, but the serrated blade on the Mk1 ST was what made me get it. I am not a big fan of the sheepsfoot design and am unlikely to need one.

But then again I am probably wrong

Thats why I carry a MOD CQD for the seatbelt!

To be honest, I don't care about the sheepsfoot blade. In an emergency, I would use the EMT shears I keep in my briefcase and my truck or just use whatever onehander I have on me (probably one of my sebenzas).

I rarely even use the regular blade on my multitool. In fact, I would prefer to have one without a blade entirely, (or with a small blade and longer screwdrivers) for taking on airplanes and the like. Still, I can't bring myself to grind the knife blade down!

I will have to say that I am looking forward to the serrated sheepsfoot. I think it will suit me much better. I also agree that the improvements to the Supertool will likely make it the best tool going. I already like the supertool better than the others, mostly due to the combination of tools. These improvements will make an already awesome tool even better.

I never have been a big fan of the Gerbers but you can order them without knife blades if you wanted a multitool for air travel.

Has anyone heard anything else about the release date? Are we still looking at August?

I've had the same idea. I am thinking about grinding the blades off a supertool (or replacing them with tools from a donor LM) in order to have toool that is airport and courthouse safe

I've found I prefer the SwissTool over the SuperTool. However I never use the knife blades on any of my multi-tools. It's not intentional, I just don't think about it. I just automaticaly grab my pocket knife.
I also don't miss the scissors because I carry a Micra.
