Here's one for you guys...

Picked up a Surge & c308 on friday (costco, 100cad). The instructions that come with the surge say to have the thing out 90deg, grap the bottom and swing the saw/file fully open.... sure... can't get a good enough grip on it to HOLD it at 90deg while I swing the saw open.

Any tricks?

This is how I do it:
1. Pull out the saw/file exchanger half way so that it points skywards or at a 90deg angle.
2. Put the whole thing on a table or any flat surface like your thigh while sitting. With the file/saw pointed upward.
3. Take the file or saw, whichever one that's not in the exchanger, and gently pry, but not too much !! (you can also use your finger nail) the small gap between the two "teeth" near the base of the exchanger, simultaneously push out the file or saw from the exchanger while holding down the rest of the multi.
4. You can now exchange the two tools for one or the other.

It takes some practice, but once you figure it out it gets easier. If it sticks, try dabbing a little bit of oil on it first.

Hope this helps.
