Load up Speed

Anyone else experiencing hit and miss page loading time? Sometimes fast, other times extremely slow.

I assume they might be due to the ads?
 
I'm getting seven second page load times on my phone over cellular data network, so that's weird. Then again I did experience some fast page loading and some slow page loading on the u-verse network earlier
 
Sluggish and uneven load times. Then again, that's six ads per viewing thread page!
 
I'm having the same problem, it seems to be the shockwave ads.
 
Still hit and miss this morning for me. Some pages load fine and others it takes a few moments.
 
Mrs. Big Chris and I had the same conversation this morning. I had a few pages last night that would not load and I got a "data error" message. Hit the back button and tried again and it worked.
I just assumed it was the ads as well.
 
Hit and miss load times . Most are very slow , not really worth the wait in some cases .
 
Sometimes I'll hit the back button and it'll take me clean out of BF and I'll have to sign in again.
 
I typically browse using an Ipad off my home network and things have been slower lately.
 
Im with you Jack. Im am stuck to phone surfing and this has been horrible. Between clicking on stuff and going no where to no pinch zoom and all the lag, im fed up with it. Why do the tests need to go on now? Think its proven its slower and worse for everyone.

I can also say that im so annoyed with the adds that I will not pay for them meaning...if a gold membership doesnt get rid of adds I wont be forking over anymore cash. I may pay more to not get them but honestly, I think I pay enough for what I get here. I dont really sell that much anymore so I am only paying to get rid of adds. I have to re-evaluate how much that is worth to me.
 
The site stutter loads slowly on my tablet and has become very annoying. AdBlock speeds things up considerably, though it results in the Traditional subforum being blocked entirely. It is a sacrifice I'm willing to make while this period of testing ads on paying members persists; hopefully there aren't any earth-shattering developments in the world of traditional knives in the meantime... ;)
 
I am glad I am not the only one! I was worried my internet was slow. Still hit and miss, sometime fast others very slow.

This pretty much sums up my opinion on the matter. I don't need any of the Platinum membership features but chose to pony up the extra cash to help support the site. Enjoying an ad-free site was a nice perk though.

*ETA: anyone know how much longer the testing will continue?
