Don'y do it. It is a pita to get the malware off as it blocks the "system restore" feature that is, otherwise, the magic way to correct blunders such as I made today. Google has been hacked and the malware is bundled with the fee Google Earth. Funny, becasue oine thing the malware does is remove Google as you default homepage and default search engine. Then there are the lovely constant spam op-ups whenever you hit a key or click.

+ Crosshair I wish was on the forehead of whoever did the hack and Yahoo's CEO, as the hack channels business to Yahoo. Breath in and out. Breath in. Half out. Squeeze.

Search or a solution and there are a half dozen sites wih "free" software fixes that, you guessed it, download more malware on your device. Fix needs no download. In Chrome:
go to three dots in vertical row at right end of upper task bar.
Click on "more tools."
In new window that pops up, click on "Extensions.
Find the search.hyairmapsview extension; lick on garbage can; confirm removel
Go to "default programs" in right column that appears when you click on Windows symbol (called, for no apparent reason) the start button or just "Start." You never use it to start anything 99% of the time. IT code.
Make what YOU want the default home page and browser. Kiss Yahoo goodbye, the creeps.

Not about knives. About how we get here to pursue our passion., and some of the slime that get in the way.

Wat

This kinda sounds like you just downloaded some crappy toolbars etc. because you didn't get it straight from google. I'd refrain from threatening to kill someone(in general) and telling such things that could hurt a company when chances are you just messed up.

I opened GE, that has been on my PC for years -like 5-7, and after it opened (Usual view of Earth from space) a pop-up appeared and asked if I wanted the advance, pro, 3D version free. Stupid me, I clicked.

Like no big company ever got hacked. Remember, it hurts Google. But suit yourself. I am certainly no IT pro.

I got rid of the malware - search.hyourmapview in your search box. It is a file extension, not a new app, so the add/remove utility does not work and, as i said, System Restore will not appear in the Start search box until the malware in removed.
