Anyone recommend using Loc-Tite on Emersons? I had to use it on my Benchmades (the clip screws always loosened up on me). I don't seem to have problems with my Commander and Mini Commander after dissecting them, but I have had them a few weeks.

Have I used Loctite on knives? You betcha.

Here's a "dirty little secret" :D So do a lot of knive manufacturers and makers. So do car makers, plane makers, ect, ect.

Nothing wrong with it. Knock yourself out. :D

I use it whenever a pivot pin starts to loosen. One shot and it's cured.

Speaking of Loctite...

Today I went to the hardware store to pick some up in order to get the pin in my mini-7b to stay put.

So based on the great advice from this forum, I bought a bottle of the Blue stuff. I didn't want the Red stuff, since I LOVE disassembling knives to clean them.

Now: What is the Green stuff?!

The packaging literature doesn't seem to do a good job differentiating them. The website doesn't list their colors, instead resorting to the product ID numbers (oh so helpful)...

The green stuff is used when the parts are already assembled. You put some on the nut or bolt and it "wicks" into the threads. I prefer the blue as it seems to hold better.

You can also use clear nail polish.

Warning if you use any Loc Tite make sure only the blue goes on!
Red or higher and you will never (or seriously have a big problem) GET THEM APART AGAIN!

Blue does a great job I have used it on many knives of mine.
