I have a 3' X 10 ' craft/quilting table/cabinet my EX cannot take with her. I paid over $ 1,400 to a cabinrt maker for it . It has 12 drawers & 9 adjustable shelves & is on rollers. Quite the thing but I need to recover a small part of that money

End of commercial !

I have a camera that takes great photos. Idea is to print photos of this monster & post them along with the data in clubhouses, women's clubs etc. Took a test shot & everything worked. Got serious, took the shots & the above caption appeared.

After all of the above ,the title caption appears. I have unplugged & repluged many times. Samo-samo !

What color might cable 3 be ?
If I have a broken lead it would be great to identify it so I'd only buy one. Those things are VERY pricey.

Thank you !

i have no idea what you are talking about. is somthing wrong with you digital camera? try typing the exat error message into google

Have you successfully uploaded pictures from that camera to that computer in the past?

Have you installed software to the computer that came with the camera?

What operating system is your computer running? If it's Windows XP it should be able to do it without any software from the camera company but earlier versions of Windows didn't have that feature built in.

I have used this for over a year,no problems. I had posted a trial photo succesfully today. . When I took more exacting shots is when the flag flew. I do have XP & didn't have to install anything. It worked the instant I plugged it in .

Head scratcher.........Guess I'll be heading for the $55 dollars an hour boys.

Uncle Alan still confused.

taking fun pictures has nothing to do with this showing up. go to network connections and list what each of the local area connections are.

If I remember correctly local area cable 3 may refer to a USB port where you have installed something like a modem or similar device (such as a bluetooth dongle), I'm no expert but I had a similar problem with one of those some time ago.

So I'm guessing that you are connecting the camera to a USB port and there's something wrong with the connection (e.g. broken cable), the computer interprets this as a faulty connection on a modem type device.

I would guess that you can get another camera cable, maybe at Radio Shack, or if your camera uses a memory card you may get a memory card reader.

Some info about the camera model and the computer may help us to understand the problem.

The very large modem was resting on the cable going into the USB port. That's the one the camera feeds through . If I unplug both ends & run a continuity check & it's open ,that could very well be my problem, right ?

Oddly enough ,I went to radio repair school at Ft. Benning,Ga, in 1952 BUT military radios were a different thing & thet was generations ago.

Thank everyone.

He he, I was born in 1952...

I don't know much about electronics, but it sounds like what happened to me.

After 20+ years as a software developer (Cobol, software is different today too) I've had my share of problems with cables and some with the device connector jacks.

I don't plug my camera into the computer any more, luckily my present computer has a built in card reader, but even before that I used a simple USB card reader.

Older camera cables were sometimes proprietary, modern ones tend to be one of the common mini-USB variants, which are easy to find and replace.

I think that you know what you are doing better than I do, I hope it all comes out fine.

Local Area Connection 3 unplugged, maybe? Are you sure it said cable and not connection because it sounds an awfully lot like a message you would receive when you lose internet connectivity.

I realize you have internet access or you wouldn't be able to post your problem here :D but you may have more than one network card in your PC or you may have more than one connection method setup. Since it says Local Area Cable/Connection 3 then you may have 2 or more other connection methods setup.

You can check by right-clicking on My Network Places on the desktop and clicking Properties. This will list all of the internet connection methods your computer has setup. See if one says Local Area Connection 3. Also check and see if one has a red X on it. If so then that is probably why you are getting this message. Why your camera might cause this is unknown but I've seen weirder things happen. :)
