I got out for a short trip that past week with my daughter. We had a little jungle time and made a few neat discoveries
Cork Tree: I came upon this one by accident climbing up from the creek after a water run. This is a small cork tree. It's too bad the creek has no fish.
Binding vines; These are very flexible and easy to find. The have milky sap but remain flexible long after they are dead. Most of the other vines snap if you try to tie with them. This vine is a dead one.
Near our camp. These birds are locally called "graveteiros" or "kindling makers". If you scout around you can find ones that have fallen.
