Local Knife Party!

First, Happy 4th of July! I hope everyone had a safe one. Second, tonight I had a thought as we were doing fireworks. Those tupperware parties where you display and demonstrate all sorts of tupperware; well there should be cutlery parties. (ESEE parties to be exact) All the knife stores I go to really don't carry the knives I prefer because they say those knives are too aggressive, whatever. So other than those knife expos, what option is there? I would love a party like that! Anything out there like that? So that's is what I was thinking about while the fireworks were going off.

ESEESAVVEE-the Rocky Mountain Knive Show is in Boise, mid November-I'm hosting a desert/canyonlands walkabout in the Owyhees in conjunction-been trying to get these guys to participate for awhile now but nobody seems to be confirming anything. It's a smaller show (less than 200 tables) geared towards practical oudoor use, and I know of a few outdoor custom makers that are attending offhand, in addition to Chris Reeve, who is a local. Apparently a tequila challange isn't enough to pull Jeff out of his home in the hardwoods and jungle into the high desert ;)

Also we have RabbitStick which is an annual Idaho wilderness skills rendezvous... I'd be happy to meet you halfway (Owyhees, Cascades, Hells Canyon) in order to practice outdoor skills.

I highly doubt it will happen. Fall is a busy time for Jeff and Mike.

thanks payetterucker. I'm definitely interested in both. I went on the website and checked out rabbitstick. Hopefully I can come with the money for the weekend. Keep me posted on the knife show in Nov.

I've thought about similar parties for years. How many times have your wives gone to basket parties, tupperware parties, purse parties, jewelry parties, pampered chef parties, the list goes on and on.

Then they always say, I didn't even want to go. I bought this $50 basket because it was the cheapest thing they had.

My version... a group of guys gets together and drink some beer. The host of the party places orders for whatever the guys want. Guest make check to the host to reimburse for the actual cost of the order.

Everyone goes home to tell the wife that whatever they bought was the cheapest thing they had.

Next month a different guy host and everyone gets to order something else.

This can work for knives, shooting supplies, gun accessories, etc. :D

You sir are brilliant

When me and the guys do something like that we call it "going to a gun show" followed by "going to the brewery"...
