Hi All, Unfortunately I didn't take any pics but I went to the MN weapons collectors gun and knife show yesterday and was pleasantly surprised by what I saw there. First of all, I have never seen a CRK in person prior to buying them on the internet. At the show, there was a CRK dealer with a decent assortment of CGG, the NICA Tanto, Smalls, larges, Unmumzaans, Mnandis. A small Morning Sky, etc. He had a couple fixed blades also. Turns out that he has a shop in Owatanna MN about 45 minutes from where I live. He didn't only have CRK either. There was a lot of ZT, Microtech, Benchmade, Spyderco, Lots of autos and 3 full display cases of Randalls. His prices were right on with the internet prices also. I finally got to handle an Umnumzaan, Small Seb, and the Mnandi. All great of course. The owner was surprised as hell to meet someone carrying a 25.
Some other smaller vendors had some other CRK fixed blades, one had a user small OPK (not sure the model). I was surprised to see these at this show. Apparently the local knife collector's club joined forces with the MWCA for this show and that is why there were so many knives. A bunch of local makers were there as well. One guy, had a bunch of VERY nicely made fixed blades, made locally, with unique wood handles, cool blade steels like N690 and S110V, etc. While I was chatting with him, I told him I was in the market for a custom leather sheath for my Bravo 1. he walked me over to a guy that makes awesome sheaths. He just so happens to live about a mile away from me and he had an extra one that worked for my needs.
It was a cool experience overall and I made some good local connections. I of course told the makers that they need to join Bladeforums to sell their wares. The prices they were asking were very reasonable. I just thought I would share my experiences and surprises, you never know what you will find at a local knife show!
