Local knives in the Bahamas?

Taking a cruise to Nassau in the Bahamas. Wondering if one can find locally made knives in the markets/shops there and bring them back to the US.

I can't imagine edged tools being significantly different from anything else you'd pick up locally. While I have never tried to import my own knives, as long as it's not illegal by design (e.g., an automatic), I can't imagine it not being possible. Several of my family members have returned from places abroad and have given me gifts with a sharp edge.

Some trivia about Nassau: Casino Royale was filmed in part there; also, AC/DC rercord-breaking 1980 album Back In Black was recorded there.

Enjoy your trip. :)

I brought a bayonet back from London in my luggage, had to declare it at check in. I was subjected to some additional scrutiny but not denied the right to transport it. I also declared it on the appropriate customs forms upon reentry to the US, they couldn't have cared less.

Just my experience though.

Let everyone know if you find anything interesting down there.
