locate an ebay Bowie S1

whew, seems like a mighty steep price .... but then again, I haven't tried to find one, especially one that is NIB. And then, because I live the Sheeple's Republic of Kalifornia, the seller is gonna tack on sales tax. Ouch.

but all my whining does not in any way detract from the awesomeness of a SOG S1 Bowie !!!

Cheers,

Carl

That is expensive. The special edtion one is the same basic knife with a serial number and a wooden presentation box and it is 100.00 cheaper, however, if that is an original ...thats what your paying for. Did the S1 come with that catolog? Just checking?

FWIW, the sheath does not look like the one I got the other day. On mine, the SOG logo is above the stone pouch and the SF logo is below it...

Hi czdj,

I'm guessing - Yours seems to be an older batch of production S1 knife. Which explains why the SOG logo on yours looks like the old school "square sog logo" and the one on sale has a newer styled font, much like the one beside the "split bullet logo" on the newer knives today. Seems like SOG got rid of the SF logo as maybe some people felt that it was a little cheezy and poser-ish...:p

The original S1 Bowie was produced from 1986-2005 while the S1 Commemorative bowie was produced from 2006-2008. My guess is that SOG was bringing back the old knife seeing that it was so popular and it was, after all, the maiden child of the Seki SOG factory. :D

Carl does use his SOG knives and he does have a few great rare ones, including a user S1 and a Recon Bowie!

Cheers,
Mark ;)

Probably a good idea... The LAST thing I would want to do is dress up and run around posing as one of those warriors. The smallest one would kick my butt and if I was lucky, I'd be allowed to go home with all my teeth in a bag... :D
