locate maker ID

I posted a similar thread on the general forum several weeks ago but just noticed that I probably should have posted it hear (I was new to the site). Is anyone familier with a custom maker who uses/used the stamp "<> RBR <>", he was making knives from a laminated material with a hard mid section and soft outer panels in at least the mid to late 90's, and he was on the east coast or southern U.S. area. These were fighting style blades.
