I havent looked around for any steel flame hinderer stuff for a while, but I got curious tonight and checked to see if any retailers were carrying any... nope. So I thought I might check here and as expected there hasnt been a lot popping up. Then I thought I might check ebay to see if secondary market prices had come down in that neighborhood... NOPE! ($400 for a crusader clip!?) So, here's my question. Where are people getting this stuff brand new? (Filler tabs, clips, knuts etc) Do they land at all the major retailers and you just need to be lucky? Right place right time? Or do they hit specific retailers? And if so, are these specific retailers common knowledge and I'm just out of the loop? I'd honestly spend what they ask retail for these... but I'm not about to drop nearly half a G for a clip. Any info would be appreciated. Would love to get my hands on some of this stuff at a fairly reasonable price... though I might just be crying about something that will always be the way it is.

I have not seen any new Steel Flame Hinderer accessories in a long time and I do check occasionally. To bad Hinderer doesn’t produce “Steel Flame” type hardware, they would probably sell every item. I own a pair of the Crusader clips and an surprised people are asking that much for them. While the crusader clips look cool, they don’t have any flex to them and are a pain to get in/out of my jeans pocket.

I agree. If Hinderer produced this style of hardware himself, they would sell like crazy. Just a lazer etched clip or filler with the horse head or skulls/crusader shields would be awesome. I could justify $100-$120 or so for a cool clip straight from him

I've seen these Gear clips out in the wild lately. I guess the gears actually rotate. I'm not a fan of this kinda stuff, but I know many people like it.

Steel Flame is like a 2 man shop. Supply is super tight. When Hinderer gets items in, they are usually gone within hours. It is what it is.

With the gear clips Leading the way, I too am hoping RHK will produce more of their own clip designs. Given the crazy popularity of fidget spinners, I think that one is really brilliant.

Thats what I was thinking. Rick knows his market. Knife guys are users, collectors, or both. One thing a lot of us have in common is our subconcious need to fidget or constantly open and close our knives. The gear clip is a little over the top, but I totally get why he did it. One extra thing on the knife you can mess with while you're on the couch watching TV.
