can they be purchased at the Blade show in Atlanta?

is there a dealer for them?

or is this just 1 of those knives you have to wait 3 years to get 1 made?

I posted WTB ads at the various forums. After 6 months or so with no hits, I put up some more wanted ads. Then, in one week, I had three offers to sell. I corresponded with a few sellers and chose one. Note, prices varied from $550 to $700, making my decision fairly easy. I also had choices between the old style pivot and the newer star shaped pivot, numbered first runs and newer models. I paid more than Scott sells for, but not all that much...and I *really* wanted that knife. Voilà! Lochsa in hand. I got very lucky and dealt with an absolute gentleman, Greg aka Raindrop here at the forums.

Additionally, whenever I saw someone post pics of a Lochsa or multiple Lochsas in a collection (or any knife I really wanted to buy for that matter), I'd email them and let them know if they ever decide to sell, I'd be interested.

Lastly, I emailed many of the custom resellers who get one or two Lochsas per year and got on their reserve lists. Some retailers were willing to put me on a list, others indicated that the demand is too high to keep a list, and since they only obtain 1-2 per year, the wait would be several years anyway. Keep an eye on the big custom purveyors, I saw a few Lochsas pop up but always missed them by a day or so.

Scott also brings a few to the big knife shows he attends, but I'd bet they sell out before he gets to his table :~) To find out, email him...just as Tom Mayo mentioned.

A little leg work and you could find one in a couple of months, you just may have to pay a premium.

Also, call or e-mail Scott to get on his waiting list. He doesn't charge a deposite, and if you find one before your number comes up, you can call him and he will just take your name off the list. I ended up waiting a little over a year for mine, but it was worth it. I carry it every day. This is a good time to be looking also, People are always selling off knives to raise some cash for blade. The For sale forums should be hopping the next few weeks so people can get some cash for the show. There are some good deals to be had!!!

This has probably already beenmentioned but I forgotten:

Does the lochsa have a pivot bushing?

And since it's one piece what is itlike to disassembale and reassemble?

TIA.

Yes it has a pivot bushing. So, you don't have to worry about tension on the pivot screw. It's tightness has no impact on the action. Disassembly & reassembly is easy (or so I've heard). I don't have the nerve to take mine apart yet. First, it doesn't need to be cleaned yet and secondly I'm too much of a wimp.

FWIW, I spoke to Scott Cook as well as several other owners who have done it and they all say it's even easier than the Sebenza.
