When I close the knife, the top of the lockbar that engages with the butt of the blade seems to rub. If I clean it, it will be fine for a day TOPS. But quickly the rubbing continues. I lube both spots when cleaning. Is there any solution to this? I hate having to disassemble almost everyday. I hate the sound of the metal touching.

Is this knife a Sebenza?

Are you sure you are putting it back together correctly? They seem simple to screw back together but need to do it in the right sequence.

Are you referring to the ball detent rubbing on the blade as it opens and closes?

Next time you clean it, clean both blade tang and lockbar contact area with soap or something to remove all lube. You don't want lube there, it might help first but when it dries a bit it makes the lock stick.

Trade it in for the New folder!! :)
That problem should be a quick-fix at CRK!

If you can, I would send it into CRK for a refurb.

Hi. Yes its a Seb. Small Regular.

I am 99% sure it goes back together perfectly as I have owned several and never run into an issue. I force nothing.

I am not talking about the ball detent on opening and closing. I mean the top end of the lockbar that engages the blade when the blade is open. When i close the blade, that same top edge and the bottom edge of the knife (the two components that engage when open) rub on one another... slightly as if there is a grain of sand causing the rubbing.

Flava, thanks. I didn't even think of that. Perhaps I was doing more harm than good.

Lycosa, no desire to trade in. I love my graphic Small regular.

TKC, the knife is more or less brand new. I never carried it just kept it in its box... til recently.

I would still send it to CRK. I am sure they wouyld like to know that one left their factory not quite right.
