Whats stronger full length locking bars (Buck 110,Case sharktooth)or half length ones (Spyderco Police,Delica) or are they just as strong?

I think it's more a matter of taste as to where the lock goes, as a mid-lock or tail-lock.

I have often wondered the same thing. I notice companies like Cold Steel and even Fallkniven with their U2 utilize the mid lock or short lock back approach and they are considered to be pretty stout lock ups, but I have done some things over the years with my Schrade LB7 and my Buck 110 and feel that the locks on these are as strong as any in the industry. I doubt it matters much in the lock strength. It may have more to do with how easy or how hard it is to unlock them. I would think that if you were to try to make the lock short like on the U2 on a Buck 110 that the spring would be so hard to push down that it may not be useable unless you were Hulk Hogan with a grip of steel.
