Lock back spring

Hello and thanks for the opportunity for this question. I am just getting started with knife making and thought a good way to learn would be to dissect and repair a few of the malfunctioning knives that I have. My question, that I have yet to find very much of anything about, is how/what material I should choose for making the spring in a locking blade knife. I have several with failed or missing spring and want to try my hand at making the replacement spring. If I am reposting a previously asked question my apologies.

I use 1095 stock of the proper size, or music wire if the knife requires it.
