Just checking fellas, my new large Classic's, lock bar, covers about 80% of the tang when open. Please tell me don't be worry, its all good :D
I really don't want to take it apart, and start jacking with it, if it aint broke don't fix it as they say.

that seems like a bit too much. you bought it brand new right? it's not just "new to you?"

Brand new last month, haven't done anything with it.
Just open close and not that much either. and admire, also no wrist flicks.

Is there any chips/broken parts were the lock bar meets the blade? If not, you should be fine...I think as long as it doesn't touch the other side, it's kosher.

Alright then, kosher's good enough for me, boyzz :D

The deeper the better IMO....it's usually the combination of tension (lockbar & clip)...you can take the clip off and bend the lock bar back a hair or you could just leave it alone.

Mark, that's interesting..the clip? I removed it the day the knife came in.
I do that with all my knives.
Thanks for the points.

80% lock is PERFECT in my opinion.

you got it right Antonio

I think the official lockup is supposed to be 75%. So I wouldn't worry.

If the lock isn't sticking and there is no blade play, your knife is fine.

dc50,
This will cost you nothing but five min's:
1. Put a cloth or pad on a counter top(hard surface).
2. Losten the three screws to just LESS than snug.
3. With knife closed, grasp the CLIP SIDE Ti slab, and strike the counter top firmly(not hard) with the OTHER SIDE of the Ti slab.
4. Quickly grasp BOTH slabs together(to keep slabs from moving) and tighten screws to specs.
5. This is not much of a movement, but just may be enough to re adjust the lock lug. There is a tiny bit of play.
6. It worked for me!

I'm glad to see this post, I was just about to create a similar one :)

I received my small Sebenza 21 a week ago and I can't be more happy with it but I also think the lock bar is going too deep. I have made a couple of pics to show you:

The knife locks solid rock, no blade play at all. The only thing I have done is lubricate it with beretta oil because I wasn't patient enough to break it in and felt the opening wasn't as smooth as it should.

I didn't want to try any of the possible solutions posted here before confirming the lock shouldn't be that deep, what do you think?
